A long time ago (before the digital revolution) it took real time and thought to compose and produce artistic images.
This series was inspired by a fit I had with my old stove.
Nothing that a claw hammer wouldn't fix.
Must have been about 1986.
B&W 4x5 Polaroid.

My wonderful time with one of life's ultimate friends sadly came to an end on October 9, 2013
Scout spent her whole life loving and playing with everyone she met, never disliked anyone (except the lady and her two dogs that have the nerve to walk past our house every day) and was glad to let a grandchild lay on her or pull her tail.

She loved the lake and took full advantage of swimming and rolling in the fresh cut grass, chased frisbees, tennis balls and sticks, went hiking in the mountains and swimming in the private pool of the beach house, traveled with me almost everywhere I went on my daily routine, her head hanging out the back window or right between the seats getting my right shoulder wet. The bank, post office, hardware store, everywhere she went people loved to see her. The teller at the bank cried when I told her of Scout's passing! I have had several clients request her presence during photo shoots at my Homewood studio, she had a bunch cameo appearances in videos and catalogs!

I will always remember her happy love and wonderful eyes, the musky smell when I buried my face in her fur. I will miss her forever!

But she taught me that we have the fortunate lifestyle that would allow for another sweet animal to enjoy the life she did. The circumstance that so many envy, the ability to spend the time, energy and money required to give a animal a good healthy life.  We will never replace Scout but we are looking forward to the fun and excitement of a new puppy!

More to follow….
